Best of the SUVs for the money - 2002 Ford Explorer Sport
By hazle - February 17 - 12:16 pmLooked at everything else and kept coming back to the Sport for the price and looks. Perfect for a couple who never hauls kids. Drives well on the road with much more response than the 4 door due to 600 lbs of less wt. Same engine and tranny as the 4door. Quiet on the road.

hoping for the best - 2001 Ford Explorer Sport

Its beautiful, it has every option available, i love the sun roof leather, and the strong motor. ive out almost 1500 miles on it in that time cuz i cant stop driving it ill drive it just to kill time. But i am a little nervouse have noticed a few minor prob.s one it hesitates on some shifts, and jerks into others not all the time but sometimes. And once it did not want to start in the morning, but it was cold so who knows.

Best small SUV - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport
By 03ExplorerSPT - October 15 - 10:00 amI received my 03 Explorer Sport XLT Premium on 4/30/03 as my high school graduation gift. I used to drive a 95 Explorer XLT. This new one is much better. The power of the engine is remarkable compared to the old OHV V6. The gas mileage is a bit better than my old Explorer too. Definately a great vehicle!! It is worth the extra money for the XLT Premium!

Great value for the price - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport

I purchased the 5 speed model and am very impressed with the pick-up power it has off the line and passing power on the highway.The feul economy is not everything i would like it to be, but this also isnt a small vehicle. The design is very sporty and i get compliments on its appearance all the time. Overall im very happy with ford on this one.

Creating a convert - 2001 Ford Explorer Sport

After my 93 Mustang finally started dying after 120,000 miles and through no fault of its own he was changing his mind. After we got the Explorer Sport he has totally changed his mind and now loves Fords. Its my truck and I hardly even get to drive it. Being chauffered isnt so bad after all. We live in the country so we put ALOT of miles on our vehicles and we have had no major problems yet. Kim

Disappointed. - 2001 Ford Explorer Sport
By JackAM - September 20 - 10:00 amIm very disappointed with my Explorer. It handles terribly, even dangerously, and wants to veer off to the right and left when it hits potholes that for other cars that would be inconsequential. The interior also has a very cheap feel.

Overall Pleased - 2001 Ford Explorer Sport
By 4x4Sport - September 13 - 2:00 amFor the most part, I have been very pleased with my Sport. It is very nice looking inside and out. GREAT transmission/engine combination. Acceptable fuel economy (avg. ~17mpg in combo driving). Handles great for a SUV, but rides pretty bad - mostly due to the short wheelbase I am sure. Fairly capable offroad. I have three main complaints: too many rattles, too much body flex, and terrible resale value.

By Gootz - August 28 - 10:00 amGreat all around SUV. Tows 2 seadoos no problem, tows 2 sleds no problem, tows my 22 ft. boat no problem, you cant really even feel it back there, and the ride quality is great
